Ours is a
very unusual service and as such it is only natural that you
will have any number of questions, on this page we have attempted
to answer the most common, if however you can't find the answers

How
much does the service cost?
Subscription to the service costs £15.00 a year,
equivalent to £1:25 per month if you register
on-line, or if you prefer, you can now register by
post for £20:00 per year. Click

How
can we pay for the service?
Payment for on-line registration, can be made by credit
or debit card and takes approximately ten minutes For
postal registration we accept payment by cheque made payable
to National Keyholders Database, please allow ten working
days for your details to be added to the database.

Who
or what is a keyholder?
A Keyholder is a person or organisation who has your authorisation
to access your property

Why
do we need a keyholder?
Should something happen to, or at your property while
you are not there, the emergency services will need to
contact a responsible person to report and deal with the
matter

Who
should use this service?
Everybody who owns or has responsibility for any type
of property.

Who
should I list as my keyholders?
We recommend that you list yourself as the first keyholder
with possibly your office or work phone number and then
your mobile phone and then perhaps your partner, relatives
or friends. We have allowed for three keyholders with
two phone numbers each.

How
can I to change my details?
Once you have registered your details, only you can amend
them and at any time and as often as you like free of
charge, by signing into the site with your user name (your
email address) and your password, once your password is
accepted your details will be displayed, if you have registered
multiple properties you will be able to move from one
property to the next.

Who
has access to my details?
The database can be searched, but not amended, copied
or printed by the control rooms of the Police, Fire Brigade
and Ambulance Service and your Local Authority Environmental
Health Department, In addition our company website technicians
may occasionally have to access individual records for
maintenance purposes.

Will
my details be made available to other organisations for
mailing lists or promotional campaigns?
The simple answer to this is NO, The National Keyholders
Database will contact you, using your email address, once
every three months to remind you to check and update your
details and when your renewal is due, no other organisation
or body will have access to your details for promotional
purposes. (Please see our privacy

Is
the site, my personal information and my credit card details
secure?
Yes, every effort has been taken to make this a very secure
site, the directors of the company have decades of security
expertise between them and consequently take the issue
of security very seriously. However we understand that
some people can be wary of using their credit card on-line
which is why we have now introduced our postal registration
scheme.

I
have forgotten my password, what should I do?
Go to the sign in page, enter your user name, and press
the forgotten password button and your password will be
emailed to your registered email address.

have only been registered for a short while and have now
moved house / office what should I do?
No problem, sign in and change you address details, you
are the subscriber not the building, why not recommend
our service to the people who have moved into your old
property.

have been experiencing problems with accessing the site

I
have a Type A, monitored, intruder alarm system, in my
property, why would I need to register my keyholder details
with The National Keyholders Database?
You are quite right, if you have a monitored alarm system
you must register keyholder details with the alarm company's
alarm receiving centre, however they will not accept mobile
phones as contact numbers, or your hotel, while you are
holiday, or indeed anybody who is not capable of attending
your property within twenty minutes of being notified.

Do
the Police not have an obligation to hold keyholder details?
Police forces across the country have no obligation to
do so, with the exception of London, which is bound by
the London Local Authorities Act 1991.
